ABOUT THE EVENT
Mike and Kristin Song and Songstrong (The Ethan Miller Song Foundation) are teaming up with gun safety groups, CT law enforcement, and legislators in our first statewide gun buyback and free gun safe giveaway event on October 16th, from 10AM to 2PM at seven local police departments.
Gun owners can exchange unwanted weapons for valuable gift cards or receive a biometric gun safe for free! Once collected, the guns are destroyed.
The purpose of the event is to reduce the number of easily accessed firearms that are often stored in areas where young children can reach them. In many cases, guns are turned in by family members who see a loved one struggling with anger issues, dementia, or depression. We have heard countless heart-stopping stories of close calls from gun donors.
The video above was recorded after last year's gun buyback in Guilford CT. The event set a record for most guns collected in buyback in CT If you have lost interest in guns or perhaps, know that a loved one has become a threat to themselves, why not come down and exchange your weapons for valuable gift cards!

We are so proud and grateful to all of the police departments who are helping us remove unwanted guns from the community. In this photo, you can also see members of Swords to Ploughshares. They will take many of the guns and convert them into gardening tools.
Over 200,000 guns are stolen each year. Many of these weapons are used to hurt police officers and citizens alike. Gun violence is now the leading cause of death in children in America. A suicide attempt by gun is 5 times more likely to result in death. Let's work together to keep kids safe.
Gift Card and Safe Info
- FREE: Over 350 Biometric Gun Safes will be handed out on 10/16!
- $200: Assault Weapons such as the AR 15

Please make sure all guns are unloaded. Drive up to the police station and an officer will greet you and tell you what you need to do to exchange your guns. Please follow their instructions as it is critical that we keep everyone safe and sound.
