WHAT IS ETHAN'S LAW?
A Message from Senator Richard Blumenthal
Ethan's Law is a Connecticut and National safe gun storage law that passed with overwhelming, bipartisan support. The law was the result of a statewide effort that took place after Ethan Song, a 15-year-old Guilford teen, was accidentally shot and killed with an unsecured gun in a neighbor's home.
Ethan's parents, Mike and Kristin Song are now working on a national bill and education program that will save lives and protect kids. Ethan's Law is a collaboration of state and national gun violence prevention (GVP) groups and advocates including
CT Violence Intervention Program
Mothers United Against Violence
Yale-New Haven Hospital Gun Violence Prevent Program
Moms Demand Action
KEEP KIDS SAFE EDUCATION
Gun violence is now the leading cause of death in children. In many cases, unsecured firearms lead to accidents, school shootings, and suicide.
What can we do about it? First, we can educate our children via a world-class learning experience.
